Obituary

Yvonne Lou Nocella, 76 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 9:20 AM in her home.
Born October 14, 1935 in Fork Ridge, TN, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie E. (Farmer) Standifer.
On November 21, 1953, Yvonne married her beloved husband Charles W. Nocella at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Yvonne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Yvonne was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, and home decorating. Yvonne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, companion and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Yvonne is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Charles, five loving children: Robert W. (Elizabeth) Nocella of Albuquerque, NM, Paula A. (Rev. Douglas) Handrich of Peoria, IL, Phillip L. (Dawn) Nocella of Monroe, MI, Gregory A. (Marty) Nocella of Newport, MI and Jeffrey S. (Lori) Nocella of Temperance, MI, 12 cherished grandchildren: Amanda Abbott, Laura Cotton, Alex Nocella, Jeremy Nocella, Erica Nocella, Lucas Nocella, Michael Nocella, Brandy Nocella, Lindsay Nocella, Sara Nocella, Julie Nocella, John Nocella, and one treasured great grandchild on the way, three brothers: Bill (Dianna) Standifer of Monroe, MI, Colin (Edie) Standifer of Dayton, OH, John (Donna) Standifer of Flat Rock, MI, three sisters: Joyce Hellenberg of Glasgow, KY, Frankie (Roger) Kerkenbush of Monroe, MI, Reba (Mike) Mahoney of Pismo Beach, CA., a daughter in law: Sonia Nocella of Ruidoso, NM and a sister in law Rena Standifer of Holland, MI. In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by a brother Gary Standifer and a sister Almyra "Sis" Sortor.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe. On Saturday, September 8, 2012 she will lie in state at Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe from 2:00 PM until funeral services celebrating her life at 3:00 PM. The Rev.'s Gary Tryggestad and Ross Ulrich will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
