Wilma Mae Bogedain, age 83 of Dundee, MI, formerly of Maybee, MI, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at Hampton Manor of Dundee surrounded by her family.
Born March 27, 1940 in Dundee, Wilma was the daughter of the late Howard and Minnie (Beening) Dunmore. She attended Dundee Community Schools and married Martin J. Bogedain, Jr. on August 3, 1957 in Dundee.
Wilma embraced being a homemaker and mother, and spending time with her family and friends. When she wasn't cooking or baking, she was often sewing or crocheting, making blankets and afghans. She also liked to make hats and scarves that she would donate to Dundee Elementary School. Wilma had an appreciation of nature and a fondness for wildlife. She enjoyed visiting area parks along the Raisin River where she would peacefully feed the geese and admire the ducks. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughter.
Wilma is survived by her four children, Ronald (Janet) Bogedain of Fenton, MI, Thomas Bogedain of Dundee, MI, Brian (Betsy) Bogedain of Petersburg, MI, and Jeanine Bogedain of Tucson, AZ; sister, Donna Rodziewicz of Petersburg, MI; six grandchildren, Alex Bogedain, Daniel Bogedain, Cota (Greg) Carter, Curtis (Dayna) Spurgeon, BryAnn Bogedain, and Ashleigh Bogedain; six great-grandchildren, Bryce Bogedain, Colton Bogedain, Elijah Bogedain, Avah Boulay, Hazel Spurgeon, and Forrest Spurgeon.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Dunmore; a sister, Margaret Ann Owens and former husband, Martin J. Bogedain, Jr.
A memorial visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, with a memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.
