William Allen West, age 82 of Monroe, MI, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025 at University of Michigan Medical Center after battling leukemia.

Born January 18, 1943, Billy was one of seven boys and three girls born from the union of Herbert and Evelyn (Weisbecker) West. He graduated from Monroe Catholic Central High School in 1961 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for three years. After being honorably discharged, Bill began a long working career with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 671, retiring in 2000.

In 1976, Bill married his wife of almost 50 years, Fiana Venier. They enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel and spending winters in Florida. His hobbies included golfing, woodworking, studying the stock market, scuba diving, and oil painting.

Bill is survived by his wife Fiana; daughters, Renee Mazur, Michelle West, and Christine Carlton; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Voss and Karen Balent.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Thomas, Kenneth, Clifford, Carl, Charles, and James; and infant sister, Catherine.

In keeping with Bill's wishes, no services will be held. He had arranged for his earthly remains to be donated to the University of Michigan Anatomical Research Program. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family.
