William Paul Domick, age 75 of Monroe, MI. passed away after a lengthy illness, Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 7:54 PM in his home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born November 22, 1930 in Flint, MI. the son of the late Albert William and Sarah Maude (Harrison) Domick. Bill served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. Bill attended the University of Michigan and went on to attend the General Motors Institute (GMI) graduating in 1956 where he received two degrees one in Mechanical Engineering and the other in Industrial Engineering. In 1961 Bill married Julia Ann Alvarez in Evanston, IL. They moved to Monroe in 1969 where Bill began working for the Monroe Auto Equipment as Director of O.E.M. Sales and Market Development. Bill retired in 1994 from Tenneco Automotive. Bill was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Monroe where he served on the Vestry, was a former Senior Warden and served as Financial Chairman. Bill was a Past President of the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce and served as Campaign Chairman for the United Way. Bill was a member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club and was a golf enthusiast. Bill also served as board member for the Lake Erie Transit Authority Board until his retirement earlier this year. Bill was an avid collector, he enjoyed building, gardening, landscaping, woodworking, and traveling. Bill is survived by his beloved wife Julie, 2 loving children; Paul Clark (Kathleen) Domick of Los Angeles, CA. and Kimberly Blair Domick of Monroe, MI. and Asheville, NC, a brother Don (Diane) Domick of Flushing, MI. 2 sisters; Lois Harmon (Walt) Noon of Clarkston, MI and Gerri (Curt) Moll of Courtland, OH and several nieces and nephews. Cremation will be held and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
