Obituary

Willard R. "Tuffy" Shaw, age 55, of Monroe, MI, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Willard was born September 21, 1952 in Walters, OK, the son of Wayne B. and Amelia C. (Land) Shaw. Willard was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School. He then went on to attend Ferris State University. From 1972 to 1975 Willard served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Independence. On June 26, 1976 Willard married his beloved wife the former Patricia S. Spencer in Monroe. Willard worked as a Supervisor for the US Postal Service in Monroe for 23 years. He then went onto work for Clean Tech, Inc. in Dundee for the past 8 years. Willard was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Monroe, He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Willard is survived by his beloved wife Pat, his mother Amelia, his 3 loving children; Kristopher M., Matthew A. and Ashley Nicole all of Monroe, 6 brothers; Donald "Butch" (Joan) of Hilo, HI, Herb (Barb) of Fort Mohave, AZ, Paul (Shauna) of Monroe, Ken (Evelyn) of Monroe, John (Nellie) of Monroe, Ed of Monroe, 3 sisters; June (Jim) Hosch of Monroe, Barbara Inman of E. Bernstadt, KY, and Millie Daniels of Monroe. Sadly he was preceded in death by his father, his step father George Shaw and his brother Dave Shaw. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Charles McCollum pastor of Faith Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery where the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors.
