Willard Hensley, 75, of Monroe, passed away at 8:25 AM, Friday, May 30, 2008, in Tendercare of Monroe. He had been poor health for 5 years and seriously ill since last Thursday. He was born on October 15, 1932 in Harlan, KY to Roy B. and Delora (Lori) (Langford) Hensley. On October 14, 1952 he married Alberta Wilson in Harlan, KY. They moved to Monroe in 1965 from Harlan. Sadly, she preceded him in death on February 3, 2000. He was employed as a supervisor at Monroe Steel Castings from 1965-1984, then by Robert's Security from 1989 until his retirement in 2000. A master gardener, he enjoyed riding his bicycle too. He leaves to mourn his children, Gary D. (Caroline) Hensley of Monroe, Brenda G. (Paul) Kamprath of Dundee, and Diana L. Velasquez of Monroe, brothers, Roger D. (Linda) and Roy B. (Norma) Hensley, both of Harlan, KY, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. His parents and sister, Jan Hensley also preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-8 PM. He will then be taken to the Mount Pleasant Mortuary, Harlan, KY. He will lie in state at the New Riverside Baptist Church, Smith, KY on Tuesday from 10 AM until funeral services at 11 AM. His nephew, Rev. Josh Hensley, pastor of New Riverside Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will follow at Hensley Cemetery, Smith, KY. The family request that memorial gifts in has name be given to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe
