Obituary

Wendy Joan Nolan, age 57, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at home.

The daughter of the late Thomas Norwood and Susan Hope (Krajci-Champion) Rosenberger, Wendy was born on April 24, 1969 in Monroe. She married Shawn Matthew Nolan at Yellowstone National Park on May 29, 1999. Shawn sadly preceded her in death.

Wendy worked at Michigan Surgery Specialists for Dr. Richard Singer and Dr. Edward Haass for almost thirty years. She loved her work and the people she met there.

Wendy was a huge Detroit Lions fan; she watched and cheered them on each and every game. She was also very passionate about music, particularly the Rolling Stones. Most of all she was known for her big heart, she loved to be around people and was always a person you could go to with no judgements. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Elayne (Robert) Nolan; son, Matthew (Kristina) Nolan; sister, Jill (Richard) Spain; twin brother, David (Amy) Rosenberger; and nieces and nephews, Spencer (Adena) Prill, Lauren (Bobby) Cassidy, and Luke Rosenberger.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Shawn.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 South Telegraph Road, Monroe, Michigan 48161 on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at which time the memorial service celebrating Wendy’s life will begin. Rev. Spencer Snow of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
