Wanda J. Fisk, age 97, of Monroe, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Wellspring Lutheran Services.
Wanda was born June 11, 1924 in Vincennes, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles and Catherine Nettleton. She married Donald C. Fisk September 14, 1946; he preceded her in death May 18, 2000.
She was a 1942 graduate of Monroe High School. She and her husband, Donald, enjoyed ballroom dancing and spent many weekend evenings out dancing. Wanda loved spending time with her family. She was an avid reader. She and her husband were also active in helping with the VFW Post 1138 bingo nights.
Wanda's cousin was well known comedian Red Skelton, she loved telling people that they were related, and he called her June Bug as a child.
She is survived by two sons, Randy (Sue) Fisk of LaSalle and Tim (Pinky) Fisk of Hillman, MI; six grandchildren, Jamie, Dana, Nathan, Heidi, Emily and Natalie; eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary L. Fisk; one brother and six sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Brenda Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
