Vincent A. "Stormy" Weatherholt, 91 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 8:44 AM in Medilodge of Monroe.
Born May 8, 1920 in Traverse City, MI, Stormy was the son of the late Charles and Ellen (Mannor) Weatherholt. Stormy was a 1938 graduate of Williamsburg High School in Traverse City. He moved to the Monroe area in the 1940's.
In 1944 Stormy married the former Evelyn Frederick in Monroe, she passed away in January of 1968. He then married his beloved wife the former Betty E. (Stump) Pillette at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe on October 17, 1981.
Stormy was employed as a heavy equipment operator working out of the Operating Engineers Local 324 in Southeast, MI for 60 years. He retired in 1984.
Stormy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. He enjoyed watching all types of sports especially the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and University of Michigan and Michigan State Football. Stormy also enjoyed tinkering in his garage, woodworking, and repairing lawn equipment.
More than anything Stormy enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years; Betty, 2 loving sons; Robert V. Weatherholt of Maybee, MI and Richard W. (Bonnie) Weatherholt of Iron River, MI, 4 step children; Gary F. (Sandy) Pillette of Monroe, Larry J. (Gail) Pillette of Monroe, Penny M. (Kevin) Bowman of LaSalle, and Paula B. (Bob Gill) Roman of Monroe, 13 cherished grandchildren and 23 treasured great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his first wife Evelyn, Stormy was preceded in death by a son Roger, a daughter Diana, and 13 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Fr. William Fisher, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe, will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Maybee, MI.
