Verla R. Hagan, 72 years, of Monroe, MI passed away, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the I.H.M. Health Care Center in Monroe under the tender care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe and the employees of the I.H.M.
Born, August 22, 1938 in White County, TN, Verla was the daughter of Linell and Willie (McBride) Snider. Verla moved to the Monroe area in the 1960's. Verla decided to go back to school and receive her high school diploma and was a 1972 graduate of Huron High School. She also was a graduate of Beauty College.
Verla was employed by Hardee's Food Systems as a manager and training consultant from 1976 until her retirement in 1990 and also taught dance. She enjoyed music, fishing and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed time with friends and family.
Verla is survived by her mother Willie Snider of McMinnville, TN, 3 loving daughters; Theresa (Tim) Skotak of Sylvan Lake, MI, Rhonda Haynes of Monroe, Wanda Hagan of Saline, MI a loving niece and caregiver Betty Bell, 4 cherished grandchildren Heather, Adam (Kiersten), Aaron and Alaina, 4 treasured great grandchildren: Alex, Caiden, Ella, and Gracie, 1 sister; Merla (Stan) McAmis, 3 brothers; Luther Luna, Burgess (Janie) Luna and Milton Snider, all of the McMinnville, TN area. Sadly, Verla was preceded in death by her father Linell Snider and her companion of 23 years, Paul Chadwell.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held that evening at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Tommy Haynes will officiate. Interment will be held in Mishawaka Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
