Troy E. Cole, 80 years, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Monroe, MI went home to be with The Lord on Friday, May 3, 2013 in his home.
Born June 10, 1932 in Goin, TN, Troy was the son of the late Ambrose and Emma (Carey) Cole. Troy moved with his family to Monroe in 1946. Troy also resided in Toledo, OH for many years before moving to Phoenix in 1980.
Troy served his country honorably and proudly in the US Army from 1953 to 1954. For his service Troy received the National Defense Service Medal.
On July 3, 1990 Troy married the former Bonita Meek in Phoenix.
Troy was employed as an assembler for Dura Corporation for 17 years. He was also a self-employed Mechanic in Phoenix from which he retired in 1994.
Troy is survived by his wife Bonita, two loving children: Ronald (Norma) Cole of Toledo, OH and Emma Lou Pontious of Pascoag, RI., five cherished grandchildren: Robert, Corey, Jennifer, Josh and Ashley, and one treasured great grandchild, a brother: Denver (Gail) Cole of Crossville, TN, three sisters: Pearl Beason of Monroe, MI, Oma (John) Eldridge of Crossville, TN, and Florene Cole of Rockwood, TN. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his youngest son J.C. Cole, three brothers: Freeman, Raymond, and Elwood and a sister: Tracy Hopper.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 10:00 AM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 noon. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
