Tommy Lee Lawson, age 74, of Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Tommy was born August 17, 1951 in Lenoir City, Tennessee, he was the son of Jack and Arzona (Wampler) Lawson.

He was a fuel supply engineer for Detroit Edison before his retirement in 2014.

Tommy enjoyed going to concerts in the park, fishing, camping and walking at Sterling State Park. He loved the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his six children, Robert Lawson of Petersburg, Jeremy Munson of Temperance, Joshua (Christy) Munson of Temperance, Tommie (Keith) Thrift of Petersburg, Brandi (Greyson Masserant) Lawson of Oregon, OH and Destany (Christopher Reynard) Lawson of Monroe; four siblings, David Lawson of Monroe, Jackie (Patricia) Lawson of Lenoir City, TN, Donnie (Tammy) Lawson of Lenoir City, TN and Jennifer (Eric) Stiegler of Louisville, TN; nine grandchildren, Brendan, Kaylee (Josh), Braxton, Luc, Carrac, Luna, Eli, Tobias and Lorelei and one great grandson, Dwayne.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Weston; sister, Darlene Kwaitkowski and brother, Joe Lawson.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, with the funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor John Bullard will officiate. In accordance with Tommy’s wishes cremation will follow.
