Todd L. Turner, 54 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 10, 1962 in Monroe, Todd was the son of Arley L. and Karen K. (Hoffman) Turner. Todd was a 1981 graduate of Monroe High School where he was a wrestler and ran track.
Todd served his country honorably and proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Todd served from for four years and was stationed in Germany and in Honduras.
On July 31, 1989 Todd married his beloved wife, the former Mary Lou Hamilton at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Todd worked as a heavy equipment operator for Site Development in Troy, Michigan for 30 years.
Todd was a member of Elevate Church in Monroe and the Monroe Wrestling Club. More than anything Todd loved time spent with family especially his grandchildren.
Todd is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary Lou, his parents Arley and Karen Turner of Monroe, four cherished children: Joseph E. (Tasha) Claridge of Mt. Ulla, NC, Lisa M. (Matthew) Barnhart of Clearwater, FL, Ashley L. (Kevin Fraser) Turner of Monroe, and Sean C. Turner of Anderson SC, six treasured grandchildren: Tiffany, Alexis, Talliah, Caroline, Branson, and Brynn, a brother: Christopher (Renee) Turner of Chelsea, MI and their two boys: Christopher and Calab.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 1:00 PM until funeral services celebrating Todd's life at 7:00 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, MI 48161. The Rev. Adam Davis of Elevate Church will officiate. In keeping with Todd's wishes cremation will be held and he will be interred at Roselawn Memorial Park.
