Tina D. Alamo, age 63 of Monroe, passed away at 4:03 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She had been in declining health since being diagnosed with Covid-19 three weeks ago.
Born December 22, 1957 in Monroe, Tina was the daughter of the late Eugene and Barbara (Hance) Burt. She attended Monroe Public Schools and married Luis M. Alamo on July 2, 1977 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. Tina was currently working at Four Star Greenhouse in Carleton where she has been employed as a Lab Technician since December of 1993.
A lot could be said about Tina. Her many hobbies and interests include crocheting, flower gardening, camping with her family, going to the movies, watching her son Justin play hockey, listening to music and attending concerts, and shopping with her best friend, her daughter Carly.
Tina is survived by her husband of 44 years, Luis Alamo; three children: Jason (Brandi) Alamo, Justin Alamo, and Carlina Alamo, all of Monroe; two siblings: Patricia (Al) Biedlingmaier and Eugene (Shawna) Burt, both of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Hailey Alamo, Emanuel Alamo, Savannah Alamo, Ava Alamo, Tristan Alamo, Novia Qassis, and Tayton Qassis.
In addition to her parents, Tina was also preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia Collingsworth.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Tim Iocoangeli, Pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Cremation and interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting St. Jude Children's Hospital or Ronald McDonald House to aid families experiencing medical crisis.
