Timothy D. Blanchett, age 73 of Gaylord, MI, formerly of Monroe County, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Born August 13, 1951 in Monroe, Tim was the son of the late Alton and Theresa (DuCharme) Blanchett. He attended Airport Community Schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from September 19, 1968 until being honorably discharged on February 12, 1970.
Tim was employed by Ford Motor Company and Dura Automotive. He moved to Northern Michigan five years ago and went to work for Otsego Ski Club. While residing in Monroe County, Tim was a member of LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church.
Tim loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, sitting around a campfire while camping, and especially spending time with his family and grandkids.
Tim is survived by two sons, Jason (Jacqueline) Blanchett of Mancelona, MI and Timothy (Amberly Miller) Blanchett, Jr. of Jefferson City, TN; three siblings, Richard (Bonnie) Blanchett of Grand Island, FL, Barb Miller of Newport, and Jim (Amy) Blanchett of Erie, MI; five grandchildren: Joseph (Delaney Bouska) Blanchett, Alexandria Blanchett, Kara Blanchett, Jayla Blanchett, and Izabella Miller.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Garrett and Carol Blanchett, and a brother, Ron Blanchett.
Family and friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16th at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161. Tim will lie in state Friday at 10 a.m. at LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church, LaSalle, MI, where services will begin at 11 a.m. The church pastor, Rev. Joseph Baird will officiate followed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Newport, MI.
