Thomas John Radcliffe, age 77 of Monroe, passed away, Thursday, June 20th, 2024 at Brookdale Monroe.
Tom was born May 7, 1947 in Monroe, he was the son of Ray "Jack" and Florence "Ann" (Sterling) Radcliffe. He married Laurie Whitaker in 1975.
He was a 1965 graduate of Monroe High School. He was employed by Ford Motor Company at the Monroe Plant until his retirement in 2005.
Tom served in the US Army, with the 588th Combat Engineers from July 30, 1969 until his honorable discharge on March 5, 1971.
He enjoyed helping and mentoring teenagers through his involvement in F.I.R.S.T. Robotics and Lego Robotics programs.
Tom was also a patron of the arts. His love of art and community lead him to purchase several paintings and other works of art in support of Monroe's local artists.
He is survived by a son, Eric Radcliffe and his fiancée Audrey Petree and her children, Seseana Franzen, Anthony Franzen, Jacob Franzen and Jonathon Anteau and a brother, Walter (Cynthia) Radcliffe.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, where military honors will be held at 3 p.m. that afternoon by VFW Post 1138, Monroe.
