Obituary

Thomas Leyden of Frankfort, MI, formerly of Monroe, MI, passed away on June 29, 2013, at the Frankfort Pines near friends and loved ones.

Tommy was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 10, 1915, to Patrick Leyden and Margaret Leyden (Young). Tommy married Dorothy Carroll on July 9, 1942. Tommy proudly served our country in the Navy as a Seabee during World War II.

Tommy had many interests and always found a way to keep himself busy. Tommy was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, and American Legion, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was proud to be associated with Pipefitters Local 671 for over 65 years.

Tommy was dearly loved by his friends and family and it was his goal in life to ensure that they were blessed.

Tommy is survived by his daughter Judith Scheich, his grandsons, Dan (Cindy) and Paul (Melissa), and great grandchildren, Jacob, Cidny, Gillian, and Logan (Little Joe).

Visitation will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home at 1201 S Telegraph Monroe, MI on Tuesday July 2, 2013, from 4 - 8pm. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30PM that evening. Funeral services will be held at the Bacarella Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday July 3, 2013. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate and the VFW Post 11:38 will conduct military honors. Lunch will follow at the Monroe VFW Post 1138 on LaPlaisance Rd. and Jones Avenue.  A graveside service will be held at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, OH on Wednesday afternoon.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Munson Hospital Hospice.
