Thomas R. Ausmus, 54 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI, passed away peacefully at home with his family, on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 4:06 PM. Tom had been in poor health since April.
Born March 11, 1958 in Monroe, MI, Tom was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Maxine M. (Allen) Ausmus. He married Helga Schneider on February 11, 1977 in Monroe.
Tom was a loving father and great friend to all who knew him. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his children: Angie (Jason) Struth of Newport, MI, Katharina (Richard Jett) Ausmus of Monroe, Samantha Ausmus of Monroe and Thomas Ausmus of Monroe, nine grandchildren: Breeanna, A'marion, Zane, Ryllee, Ryenn, Emma, Marvin, Na Rya, and Jaylynn, two brothers: David W. (Janice) Ausmus of Oak Ridge, TN, Robert A. Ausmus of Monroe, one sister Susan M. Woodruff of Monroe and his former wife and friend Helga Schneider.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by grandparents.
A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends.
