Theodosia Mullins, age 80 of Newport, MI, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Vibra Critical Care Hospital, Taylor, MI.
Born May 15, 1942 in Rock Ridge, WV, Theo was the daughter of the late William and Frances (Blankenship) Reed. On July 8, 1961, Theo married Okey Mullins in Virginia. Together they raised three children. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2013.
Theo was employed by Mercy Memorial Nursing Center in the dietary department and by Jefferson Schools in various capacities for many years. She enjoyed camping, cooking, listening to Bluegrass music, and watching Gun Smoke reruns.
Theo is survived by her children, Gary (Regina) Mullins of LaSalle, MI, Sharon Mullins of Newport, MI, and Kenneth Mullins of Newport; five siblings, Geneva Smith of Monroe, Glenna Garton of New Jersey, Lois (Ron) Laterza of New Hampshire, Stella (Lowell) Wood of Indiana, and Catherine Addair of Florida; sister-in-law, Molly Mullins of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Bryce Mullins, Holly (Tyler) French, and Cole (Zoe Messer) Mullins; four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Weston, Sutton, and Renley French; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Mike Anson, pastor of First Christian Baptist Church will officiate followed by burial at Huron Valley Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI.
