Thelma P. Bryant, age 93 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Fountain View of Monroe.
Thelma was born on September 27, 1930 in Monroe to Herbert and Lilly (Patton) Greer. On March 17, 1947, she married Albert M. Bryant in Monroe. Together they raised four children. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2009.
Serving God and family were the most important things in Thelma's life. As a member of Stewart Road Church of God, Thelma always looked forward to attending church prayer meetings, and baking coffee cakes and cookies for funeral luncheons. Thelma also enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and especially spending time with her family.
Thelma is survived by her children, Judy Drummonds of Monroe, Donald Bryant of Newport, MI, Cathy (Dave) Mabe of Knoxville, TN, and Randy (Sandy) Bryant of Erie, MI; two siblings, Charles (Georgia) Greer of Spartanburg, NC and Shirley Poore of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pat Dixon and Lois Greer; son-in-law, Johnnie Drummonds; Grandson, Jeffery Bryant; great-grandson, Gabriel Paul Haworth; and step-mother, Eva Greer.
Family and friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Apr. 26th at Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Thelma's great-grandson, Rev. Eric Drummonds will officiate followed by burial at Woodland Cemetery.
