Teresa Anne Hansen, 63 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in her home with her loving husband and children at her side.
Born September 20, 1953 in Monroe, Teresa was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Waitman) Carrabino. Teresa was a 1971 graduate of Monroe High School and attended both Monroe County Community College and Eastern Michigan University.
On September 10, 1971 Teresa married her beloved husband Larry H. Hansen at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe of which she was a member.
Teresa's job and hobby were one in the same, she owned Alterations Unlimited and Accent Draperies and More, and so enjoyed sewing and creating. Teresa was a true artist and her creations will live on for years to come in so many places in Monroe and the surrounding areas. Her other hobbies and passions included: cooking, baking, painting, doll making, and gardening. Most of all Teresa loved time spent with her husband, children, and grandbabies, whom lovingly called her Mum.
Teresa is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Larry, her caring mother Ruth, three loving children: Benjamin J. (Ashley) Hansen of Monroe, Emily Jo (Tom) Short of Carleton, and Andrew W. (Tara) Hansen of Erie, eight cherished grandchildren: Sierra, Evelyn, Kathryn, Sophia, Lily, Jack, Mia, and Josephine, a treasured great granddaughter Madilyn and six siblings: Kathy (Thomas) Bellino, Fran (Geoff) Harrington, Laurie (Dale) Loveland, Michael Carrabino, Beth (Bruce) Spinale and William (Kari) Carrabino all of Monroe. In addition to her father, Teresa was preceded in death by a special grandmother: Ruby Zeitz, and two nieces: Tiffany Bellino and Katelyn Carrabino, who was also her Goddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, MI, 48161, where a scripture service, along with family tributes, will be held that evening at 6:00 PM. On Saturday, July 1, 2017 she will lie in state at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 10:00 AM. Fr. Raymond Arwady, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
