Susan M. Biela, age 71 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Medilodge of Monroe.
Born September 3, 1952 in Detroit, MI, Susan was the daughter of the late Eugene and Julianna (Cieslinski) Biela. As a young girl, she came to Monroe with her family in 1956.
Susan graduated from St. Mary Academy and earned an associate degree while attending college. She had been employed as a Librarian with the Monroe County Library System, as a Ward Clerk at Mercy Memorial Hospital, and as a Marketing Assistant at the Renaissance Center in Detroit.
During her life, she had been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She loved animals and always had pets in her home. Her hobbies included flower gardening, reading and art, traveling which included trips to Paris and Hawaii.
Susan is survived by her beloved nieces, Julie (Michael) Frazer of Monroe, Anna (Drew) Biela-Robinson of Marshall, MI, and Amanda (Andrew) Biela-Buchanan of Monroe; great-nieces, Claire and Grace Frazer; great-nephew, Julian Buchanan; and sister-in-law, Connie Biela of Carleton, MI.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Biela.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maybee at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5th. Deacon Tracy Esper will officiate. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral and burial arrangements.
