Steven M. Murdock, 73 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Born November 3, 1951, Steve was the son of the late James Gordon and Jessie Mabel (Winters) Murdock. Steve was raised in Dundee, Michigan and attended Dundee High School. He served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army.
Steve married his beloved wife, and best friend, Tammy M. Ball, after being together since July of 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 5, 2003, because they were twin flames and inseparable.
Steve was employed by Ford Motor Company for 33 years, first at the Rawsonville Plant and then transferred to the Monroe Plant from which he retired as a Quality Inspector in 2004.
A true Christian, Steve was baptized and was a deacon in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, traveling, and trips to the casino. He was an avid hunter, but eventually realized his fondness and love of animals meant more and that he probably would never find Bigfoot anyway, so he stopped the hunt. Most of all, though, Steve enjoyed anytime spent with his wife, family and friends.
Steve is survived by his beloved bride, Tammy, four loving children: Jason (Mandy), Ryan (Rhonda), Erica (Raphael), and Jarrett (Annette), all of Monroe, ten cherished grandchildren: Daniel, Kelsey, Kailey, Kolie, Klay, Brooklyn, RyRy, Lyric, Elle, and Aubree, along with the recent addition of two great grandchildren: Kara and Callan, two sisters: Esther, and Maxine (Jay), his mother-in-law, Mary (Eddie), three sisters in law: Veronica, Tonia, and Katie (Jake), a brother-in-law, Raymond, 12 nephews, 7 nieces, and Steve's deceased son Toby's girlfriend, Angie.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a son, Toby, four siblings: Libby, Jimmy, Elese, and Buddy 'James', his father-in-law Raymond Ball and 1 nephew.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 8, 2025 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph, Monroe, Michigan, 48161, from 2 – 7 pm. At 3:00 pm on Thursday, VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors followed by sharing a 'Life of Memories', celebrating Steve's life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Rebel Dogs of Detroit or the Humane Society of Monroe County.
