Stanley Kowalczyk II, 56, of Gibraltar, passed away at home on Sunday, July 12, 2015. He had been in poor health for 2 years.
He was born December 2, 1958 in Lincoln Park, MI, to Stanley and Stella Theresa (Mihalczyk) Kowalczyk I. He married Janice Ann Misiewicz on December 2, 1982 in Taylor, MI, and she survives.
Stanley was a member of the Trinity Church of God, Carleton, MI, and a 1977 graduate of Kennedy High School, in Taylor. He enjoyed playing all kinds of card games, including a few he invented, as well as yahtzee and double deck pinochle. He liked to camp, sing, fish, play hockey, watch wrestling, golf, ride his bicycle, and was a martial arts enthusiast, but mostly, he loved all the time he spent with his family.
He leaves to cherish in his memory, his wife, Janice; children, Stanley A. Kowalczyk III and Christopher A. Kowalczyk, both of Gibraltar; a beloved granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth; adopted son, Kevin M. Joyce of Monroe; and siblings, Barbara (Bob) Prusakiewicz of Taylor, Robert (Debbie) Kowalczyk of Allen Park, and Raymond Kowalczyk of Southgate.
Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service to honor his life will be held at the Trinity Church of God, 12765 Mill St., Carleton, MI at 11 AM on Saturday, July 18. The Family will greet friends from 10 - 11 AM. Rev. Mark Wellhousen, pastor of the church will officiate.
