Shirley Ann Simpson, 77 years, of LaSalle, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in her home.
Born November 26, 1940 in Monroe, Shirley was the daughter of the late James H. and Jossie A. (Bollinger) Finley. Shirley attended Monroe Public Schools and received her GED from Monroe High School.
On October 17, 1959 Shirley married her beloved husband Leroy Simpson at First Baptist Church in Monroe.
Shirley was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and the VFW Post 1138 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed traveling, camping, crocheting and reading. Most of all Shirley enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Leroy, three loving children: Roy W. Simpson of LaSalle, Rick J. (Tami) Simpson of LaSalle, and Dianna L. (Randy) Drummonds of Monroe, nine cherished grandchildren, three treasured great grandchild, a brother; Eugene (Joan) Finley of Monroe and two sisters; Hannah O'Neil of Newport and Donna Crook of Monroe, two sisters in law; Irene and Rosie Finley both of Monroe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Rev. Edward, Roy, Jay and Rev. Carl Finley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at LaSalle Township Cemetery.
