Obituary

Sharon Ann DuVall, age 82 of LaSalle, MI, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born April 19, 1942 in Monroe, Sharon was the daughter of the late Orlando and Marcella (Cousino) Morrin. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1960 and married Richard N. DuVall on May 11, 1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI. Sadly, he preceded her in death on September 25, 1992. Together they raised two children.
Sharon was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir and had been employed as a church secretary and director of religious education for nearly 30 years. Previously, she was employed by Michigan Gas Utility Company and later by the Second Chance Boutique. Throughout most of her working life, Sharon and her husband operated a tax preparation business in their home. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Thrift Shop, and the Monroe Garden Club.
Sharon's many hobbies included China painting, gardening, yard work, attending her grandkids school and sporting events, and traveling with her close group of friends.
Sharon is survived by her children: Ann Arquette and John (Melissa) DuVall, both of Monroe; two siblings: twin sister, Karon Kinsey of Monroe and Richard (Karen) Morrin of Erie, MI; seven grandchildren: Kaitlin (Mason Vinton) Thomas, Kelsey (Kyle) Borstler, Drake Wohlgamuth, Mitchell DuVall, Dawson Wohlgamuth, Maya DuVall, and Kylee Arquette; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Ameirah, and another on the way; and her beloved pet bernedoodle, LuLu.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon is also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Larry Kinsey and Donald DuVall.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18th at Bacarella Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sharon will lie in state at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Rev. Fr. Zaid Chabaan followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Erie, MI.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
