Selma Rose Baker, 95 years, a life long resident of Monroe, MI passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 4:16 AM in Mercy Memorial Hospital. Selma had been in poor health for 1 year. Selma was born October 12, 1911 in Monroe, the daughter of the late William and Augusta (Fiedler) Kohler. On January 30, 1933 Selma married Eugene Baker at Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe. A homemaker Selma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Selma is survived by her beloved daughter Eileen J. (Cleve) Love of Monroe, MI. a sister Thelka Vetter of Monroe, MI., 11 cherished grandchildren and 16 cherished great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Selma was preceded in death by 3 children; Merle Baker, Dolores Belkofer and Arnetta Herkimer, a grandson Matthew Baker, a brother Norman Kohler and a sister Hilda Rich. Visitation for Selma will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 2:00 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home. The Rev. Stanley AuBuchon pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
