Sandra C. Vadun, 62 years, of Adrian, MI formerly of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 4:25 AM at Tendercare of Adrian. Sandy had been in poor health for several years. Sandy was born April 1, 1945 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late Charles and Wanda (Blaida)Vadun. Sandy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Monroe. Sandy was a member of the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for 20 years as a Spiritual Director. Sandy received her bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and her master's degree in Theology from the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto, Canada. Sandy then went on to be a family counselor at Maurice Spear Campus in Adrian, MI for 7 years. Sandy was involved in the Visitation House of Prayer Movement in Monroe and Florida. Sandy loved animals. Sandy had a contemplative spirit and enjoyed reading spiritual classics such as the works of Thomas Merton and Teresa of Avila. All who knew Sandy knew her to be selfless, giving and loving individual. Sandy is survived by her sister Charlene (George) Mahas of Brunswick, GA and 12 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Chuck Vadun. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-4 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home. On Saturday, November 24, 2007 she will lie instate from 9:00 AM at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel, 610 W. Elm Ave., Monroe, MI where a Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
