Sandra L. Thomas, age 63 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit after a two year battle with cancer.
Born March 14, 1960 in Lincoln Park, MI, Sandy was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Wistinghausen) Laird. She was a 1978 class member of Monroe High School and a former member of Good Time Cruisers Car Club.
On December 4, 1976, Sandy married William G. Thomas at Monroe Apostolic Church. Together, they enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Northern Michigan. She was employed as a Dietary Aide for 43 years by Frenchtown Convalescent Center and Fountain View of Monroe.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Bill Thomas; son, Charles Jason Thomas of LaSalle, MI; grandson, Brandon Bomia of LaSalle, MI; sister, Candace Rudder of Abilene, TX; 3 nephews, Jeremy, John, and Jared Rudder; and niece, Jenna Rudder.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Lambertville Community Church will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
