Obituary

Samuel Carrabino, 68 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Born October 11, 1953 in Monroe, Sam was the son of the late Samuel J. and Carmella (Russo) Carrabino. He attended St. Michael Elementary School and was a 1971 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School, where he played football. Sam was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
On October 9, 1982 Sam married his beloved wife, the former Barbara A. Turner, in Ann Arbor.
Sam began working at Monroe Rubber and Plastics in 1978. In 2000 he became co-owner and Vice President of the business. The business was then sold to Motion Industries, from which he retired in 2013.
Sam was a former member and board member of the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, and a member and former board member of the Canvas Back Gun Club. Sam was a motorcycle enthusiast, he especially loved riding his many Harley-Davidsons he owned over the years. His final labor of love was restoring his 1968 BSA-441 Victor Special Motorcycle. He enjoyed trap shooting. Most of all Sam enjoyed time spent with family.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Barbara, two loving stepchildren: Jamie M. (Melissa) Mullins and Kevin S. (Denise) Mullins both of Monroe, several cherished grandchildren, a brother, John S. (Robin) Carrabino, of Monroe, his twin sister, Jo Ann (Allan) Knaak of Ann Arbor, and his sister Connie (Tom) Norman of Carleton.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. Private family entombment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. A public memorial service is planned for a later date.
Memorial contributions in Sam's name may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
