Sally A. Stolle, age 94 of Monroe, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 at The Enclave of Springboro, Springboro, Ohio.
Born September 29, 1929 in Monroe, Sally was the daughter of the late Dumont and Ethel (Bushroe) Hixson. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1947 and earned a Bachelor Degree in Education from Michigan State University. She then taught Latin and English at Cantrick Elementary School in Monroe for several years.
On August 6, 1960, Sally married Louis W. Stolle at St. Mary Catholic Church. When it was time to raise a family, Sally embraced being a mother and homemaker.
Putting her family first, Sally's main priority was her children. She looked forward to acknowledging their personal achievements and milestones. She enjoyed playing bridge, rummy and scrabble. She also liked reading romance novels with a happy ending, and sharing personal time with her husband when he read history books to her.
Sally is survived by her three children, Matthew Stolle of Rochester, MN, Alison (Jeff Tabbert) Stolle of Scotia, NY, and Brian (Jennifer) Stolle of Springboro, OH; sister, Mary Alice (Richard) Malesardi of Arlington, VA; six grandchildren: Adam, Andrew, and Nathan Tabbert, and Justin, Timothy, and Elizabeth Stolle.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband Louis on May 12, 2009, and a brother, Dumont "Rusty" Hixson.
Family and friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22nd at Bacarella Funeral Home where a Scripture Service will begin at 6 p.m. Sally will lie in state Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. David Burgard at 11 a.m. followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
