Ruth Wilson, age 92, a resident of Marian Place in Monroe, MI passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. Ruth was born April 10, 1916 in Tazewell, TN the daughter of the late James Curtis and Dora (Earl) Morgan. Ruth married her beloved husband William Ward Wilson Sr. in 1934 while living in Middlesboro, KY. Sadly, he preceded her in death on December 1, 1972. Ruth worked as a cashier for Sears Roebuck and Company in Flint, MI for 22 years. Ruth was also a homemaker. Ruth was a very religious woman and was a dedicated member of the First Wesleyan Church in Monroe. Ruth is survived by her 3 loving sons; William Aaron (Beverly A.) Wilson of Grand Blanc, MI, James Damon (Leslie) Wilson and William Ward (Judy A.) Wilson Jr. both of Auburndale, FL. 7 cherished grandchildren, 7 treasured great grandchildren, 2 sisters in law M. Lowrene Morgan and Layuna Morgan both of Monroe and a dear friend Chris Mills of Carleton, MI. In addition to her parents and husband Ruth was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Albert, Woodrow, Frank and James Morgan and 3 sisters; Daisy Brooks, Eva Sandifer, and Kathleen Bryant. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Paul C. Roemer pastor of the First Wesleyan Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Wesleyan Church.
