Obituary

Ruth Geiman passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. Ruth was blessed with 83 years of excellent health and was only ill for three months before her death. She was born on August 20, 1925 in Monroe to Lucy (Shopshire) and Charles McDaniel. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1944. She was employed by Michigan Bell from 1944 to 1954 and later worked for over 20 years at the Monroe Evening News. She married Russell Geiman on January 18, 1947. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Monroe Senior Citizens. She leaves behind many precious friends and relatives who meant so much to her. She is survived by her son Richard (Jeanette) of San Antonio, TX and three brothers; James (Louise) of Monroe; Charles (Carol) of Monroe, NC; and Richard (Kathi) of Seabrook Island, SC. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Russell, her brother Roy, and her parents. The family wishes to thank everyone from Monroe Mercy Memorial Hospital, Tendercare of Monroe and Team 558 and the Crisis Care Team of Vitas Hospice in San Antonio who cared for and extended kindness to Ruth during her illness. Special thanks also to Pastor Stan AuBuchon of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monroe and Pastor David Ebs of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio for their words and actions that brought Ruth peace of mind during her illness. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the Bacarella funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd, Monroe, from 11:00 until funeral services celebrating her life at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Stanley R. AuBuchon will officiate. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
