Ruby Owene Branham, 78, of LaSalle, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, at 1:05 AM, Tuesday, September 18, 2007. She had been in poor health since April and seriously ill for a week. She was born October 8, 1928 in West Point, TN to Joe E. and Effie Pearl (Eells) Weaver. She married Ottis F. Phillips on July 6, 1946 in Rogersville, AL. Ruby then married Charles Lynn Branham on February 24, 1966 in Reno, NV. Sadly, he preceded her in death on March 28, 1993. They moved to LaSalle in 1967 from Toledo, while in Toledo she had been employed by Heinls Greenhouse for 16 years, she then became a Avon saleswoman and retired in 1973. She especially enjoyed trips to the casino, gambling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Jackie (Donald) Singer of Holland, OH and Judy (Bill) Robinson of Toledo, stepsons, Mike (Sue) Branham and Jack (Carolyn) Branham both of LaSalle, and Robert (Carol) Branham of Monroe, a step son-in-law, Robert Baker of Fairfield, OH, brothers, Glen (Ann) Weaver of Alamo, TN, Travis Weaver and Austin (Joyce) Weaver, both of Lawrenceburg, TN, Billy (Rose) Weaver of Monroe, and Neal (Vicki) Weaver of Leoma, TN, sisters, Elizabeth (Leo) Boswell of West Point, TN, Edna (Gene) Staggs of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Pat (Don) Davis of Ethridge, TN, many grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren, and all her good friends and neighbors. A very special "Thank You' to Shirley Hatcher and Barb and Bill Hood from Ruby. Also preceding her in death was her stepdaughter, Lyndia Baker, brothers, Charles and David Weaver, and sister, Helen Wicks. Friends may call on Thursday at the Bacarella Funeral Home from 1-9 PM and Friday 12 PM until services celebrating her life at 2 PM. Burial will follow, next to her husband, at LaSalle Township Cemetery. Kate O'Brien, IHM, Hospice Chaplain will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her name may be given to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe or T.H.A.N.K.S., 1207 W. Albain Road, Monroe, MI 48161.
