Roy L. "Popcorn" Gray, age 64 of Newport, MI. passed away, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 9:30 AM in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH. Roy had been in the hospital for 3 months and in poor health for several years. Roy was born on February 23, 1942 in Monroe, MI. the son of the late William Porter and Rosalie (Estus) Gray. A lifelong resident of the Monroe area, Roy worked as a cashier for Clark Oil Company in Monroe for 8 years retiring in 2000. At one time Roy worked for Consolidated Paper Company in Monroe. Roy is survived by his loving son Kevin P. Gray of Newport, MI. A brother, Boyd (Sharon) Gray of Monroe, MI. 2 sisters; Mary E. LaJune of Monroe, MI, Lila B. (Ralph) Cicero Jr. of Monroe, MI. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his infant son Roy L. Gray Jr. Visitation for Roy will be held Friday from 4-9 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2:00 PM. The Rev. James Jacobs, Chaplain of Mercy Memorial Hospital will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
