Roseanne F. Venzke, age 97 of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Monroe, passed from this life on Thursday, July 20, 2023 under hospice care.
Born in 1926 in Monroe, Roseanne was the daughter of the late Fred and Cecilia (Ochs) (Mack) Sievert. She married Alvin Venzke on June 15, 1946 at St. Michael Catholic Church. He preceded her in death as did her brother, Russell, and sisters, Gertrude, Mary Agnes, Adeline, and Verna.
Roseanne had polio in her early twenties and regained the ability to walk due to the efforts of her sisters, Mary Agnes and Adeline, both nurses, using hot-pack treatments and exercise.
Roseanne led a very active life and was an avid volunteer. She enjoyed traveling throughout the states and other countries, making many friends.
Roseanne was employed by various grocery stores beginning with A&P where she met her future husband, Alvin. Together, they jointly operated Al's State Park Bait Shop which she sold after his death. Ultimately, she worked for Bank of America before moving to Tucson in 1986.
Roseanne remained independent and was able to have her own apartment in an assisted care community for 3 ½ years. The last years of her life she continued to enjoy playing games on her ipad and coloring Mandalas of which she freely gave away. She had lost her ability to dance due to post-polio syndrome but loved music.
Surviving are her daughter, Rosemary (Sam) Palazzolo of Tucson, AZ and her son, Greg (Emily) Venzke of Monroe, MI; grandchildren Kristie (Ron Stiffler) Harris, Heather (Nick) Venzke-Tykoski, Eric (Danielle) Venzke, all of Michigan, Aaron Palazzolo of Arizona, and step-grandson, Chris Stark of Michigan; 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
