Ronald D. Sheppard, 70 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the home of his sister and brother in law, Linda and Jim McDevitt.
Born October 28, 1950 in Monroe, Ron was the son of the late Ulis and Margaret Inez (Brand) Sheppard. He was a 1969 graduate of Monroe High School where he swam on the synchronized swimming team. He went on to attend Western Michigan University.
Ron was employed as a Security Guard Aid for the State of Michigan's Forensic Psychiatry Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from which he retired after 30 years of service.
Ron enjoyed playing his guitar, watching old movies, reading, riding his Harley, and bird watching. He especially enjoyed reading about and watching documentaries and movies that pertained to WWII.
Ron will be remembered as a generous man with a kind heart.
Ron is survived by his loving daughter, Sally (Mike) Baird of Aurora, OH, four grandchildren: McKenzie, Caleb, Ally, and Troy, a great grandson, Yianni, three siblings: Christopher L. Sheppard of Cheboygan, MI, Linda M. (James) McDevitt of Monroe, and Sharon G. Broshious of Toledo, OH, and five nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 2 – 8 pm where a memorial service celebrating Ron's life will be held that evening at 7:30 pm.
