Ronald Marolla, age 77, of Monroe, formerly of Livonia, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 in his home, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born July 28, 1946 in Detroit. He was the son of Theodore and Clara (Meller) Marolla. He married Barbara G. Vanston on January 29, 1971; sadly, she preceded him in death on October 26, 2016.
Ron was a 1964 graduate of Cody High School in Detroit. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
He owned and operated Marolla Construction until his retirement in 2007.
Ron enjoyed knitting, sailing, woodworking and especially, spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two children, Sheila (Josh) Myers and Edward Marolla, both of Monroe; son-in-law, James (Meredith) Stieg of Denver, CO; brother, Ted (Anne) Marolla of Livonia; and seven grandchildren, Parker, Keaton, Jude, William, Lucas, Clare and Ellis.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Megan Stieg; and two brothers, Michael Marolla and Donald Marolla.
In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
