Therogers "Roger" "Top Cat" Montague, 68 years, of Wayne, MI formerly of Monroe, MI, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at 12:15 PM at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Born May 4, 1943 in Somerville, TN, Roger was the son of the late Edgar and Bettie L. (Douglas) Montague. Roger grew up in Monroe and attended Lincoln School.
A very quiet man, Roger enjoyed fishing and drawing.
Roger is survived by 3 loving siblings; James L. Montague of Monroe, Henry Montague of Rochester, NY and Katie Harris of Memphis, TN, and nieces and nephews; Gregory Miller, Bridgette Howard, Deborah Kinlaw, Henry Montague, Joseph Montague, Michael Hunter, Joyce Ann McFarland, and James L. Montague Jr. In additions to his parents Roger was preceded in death by a brother; Lawrence "Blue" Montague, a sister; Irvertine Evans, and 2 nieces; Alicia Montague and Linda Gail Miller.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Al Overstreet of Al Overstreet Evangelistic Ministry will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
