Robert T. (Rob) Provencher, age 46, of Monroe, MI died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in his home. Born in Rumford, Maine on July 26, 1962 he was the son of Edwin and Irene (Ferrin) Provencher. Rob was a 1980 graduate of Mexico High School in Maine. While in high school Rob wrestled all four years and won the state championship in his division his senior year. Rob served his country proudly as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Rob married the former LeiLani M. Mata in Toledo, OH. Sadly she preceded him in death on March 22, 2006. Rob owned and operated Rob's Lawn Service in Monroe, MI. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially swimming in his pool with his children. Rob is survived by his mother Irene (Ferrin) Provencher of Chelsea, ME, 2 daughters; Amie of CA and Holly E. of Monroe, a son Zachary A. of Monroe and a stepson Brandon of OH. 3 brothers; Maurice Provencher of Newport News, VA, Edwin Provencher of Benton, ME and Frank Hamel of Mexico, ME, 6 sisters; Martha (Alan) Boudreau of Byron, ME, Deborah (Harry) LaChance of Chelsea, ME, Marlene Willey of Benton, ME, Stephanie (Jim) Proctor of Benton, ME, Naomi (Floyd) Duff of Pittston, ME and Daphne (Roger) Williams of Erie, MI and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Rob was preceded in death by his father and two sisters; Susan Todish and Michelle Snyder. A private graveside service will be held. Front St. Monroe, MI 48161. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
