Robert Lamont Jackson, 35, of Monroe, passed away at 6:50 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Mercy Memorial Hospital. He had been seriously ill for a year. He was born in Trenton, MI on December 21, 1972 to Otis and Juanita (Kirkland) Jackson. A lifelong resident of Monroe, he was a 1991 graduate of Monroe High School. Robert went on to receive and Bachelor of Business Administration from Rowland University, Glassboro, NJ. From 1995-1997 he worked at Boysville as a counselor, he then went on to work at Ford Motor Company, Monroe for 9 years as a manufacture technician. Lamont was known to be a good role model and speaker to local young people. On January 7, 2007 he married his longtime girlfriend, Jomary Torres, in Toledo. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, his faithful mother, Juanita Epps of Monroe, 3 beautiful children, Steven Lamont Jackson, Martise Lamont Jackson, and Anna Marie Jackson, 2 brothers, Cleosie (Denise) Kirkland of New Jersey and Otis Jackson Jr. of Monroe, and sister, Wanda (Randy) Hall of Monroe. Sadly, his father and stepfather, Floyd Epps, both preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home from 1-8 PM Tuesday, where a family hour will be held at 12 PM Wednesday. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Rev. Alfred Overstreet will officiate.
