Obituary

Robert A. Germani, Jr., 74 years, a former resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 21, 2021.
Born February 26, 1947 in Monroe, Bob was the son of the late Robert A. and Josephine (Castellese) Germani, Sr. He was baptized, confirmed and served as an Altar Boy at St. Joseph Church in Monroe. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School, where in the 4th grade he learned Latin from Sister Charles Borromeo. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School, where he played Quarterback. During his senior year, he received the Falcon Club Award for character, scholarship, and leadership. Bob was a 1969 graduate of the University of Detroit, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He went on to further his education, receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida in 1972.
Bob's first marriage was to the former Therese J. LaBrecque. On July 26, 2006, Bob married Georgia C. Fisher at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sarasota, Florida.
Bob was a sole proprietor Tax Attorney and CPA, from 1976 until his retirement in 2013.
Bob was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch, FL, the Michigan Bar Association and Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He enjoyed woodworking, exercising, cooking and watching college football.
He also enjoyed playing football and attending his grandson's games. Bob will be remembered as a wonderful man who helped a lot of people, "Pro Bono," and he truly had an unparalleled altruistic nature. Most of all, Bob loved time spent with friends and family.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Georgia, two loving children: Lisa M. (Bradley J.) Germani Williams of Rochester, MI and Dr. Ross M. (Emily) Germani of Greenville, SC, three cherished grandchildren: Michael, Benjamin, and Allison, three siblings: Loretta M. Germani, Denise M. (Bert) Wilson, and Gerard J. (Ernestine Smith) Germani, a brother in law, John Calkins, a sister in law, Teri Germani and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen J. and a sister, Carol Ann Calkins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 1-6 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, where a Rosary Service will be held at 5:00 pm. On Monday, June 28, 2021, he will lie in state at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe at 10:00 am, followed by Mass of the Resurrection celebrating Bob's life at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
