Robert Fleck

Robert E. Fleck, 74 years, of Erie, MI went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2011 in his home. Born April 2, 1937 in Harbor View, OH, Bob was the son of the late Robert U. and Mary Jane (Eidson) Fleck. Bob’s family moved to the Toledo area in the 1950’s and he was a 1955 graduate of Macomber Vocational School in Toledo, OH. After graduation Bob served his country as a US Marine during the Korean War until his discharge in 1959. On March 7, 1959, Bob married his beloved wife the former Anne Sadler in Dundas, VA. Bob was employed as a layout quality inspector for Jeep until his retirement in 2002. Prior to Jeep, Bob worked as a wood pattern maker out of the Pattern Mold and Model Makers Union Local in Toledo. Bob was a member of Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center where he served on church council during their new building expansion. Bob enjoyed fishing, and worked for a local charter fishing company, hunting, collecting odds and ends and tinkering in his garage. More than anything Bob enjoyed caring for and spending time with family. Bob was blessed with 21 additional years with his family when he became a recipient of a heart transplant in 1990 and a kidney transplant in 2001. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years; Anne, 4 loving children; Noel K. (Julia) Fleck of Temperance, David S. (Jennifer) Fleck of Petersburg, Deborah A. (Steven) Negangard of Riverton, IL, and Cheryl J. (Rodney) Delker of Monroe, 10 cherished grandchildren; Nick, Amy (Brad), Brett, Kellie, Ryan, Nathan, Mary, Jared, Rebecca, and Chelsea, and a sister; Audru A. Zimmerman of Walbridge, OH. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by an infant brother Noel. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph in Monroe. On Friday, October 21, 2011 He will lie in state at Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center from 10 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 11 AM. The Rev. Dr. Sean O’Neal, Rev. Fred Swank, and the Rev. Al Jukuri will officiate. Immediately following services the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors. Cremation will follow and interment will be held at Erie Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center.
