Robert E. Fanning, age 77 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Fountain View of Monroe.
Born September 4, 1946 in Toledo, OH, Bob was the son of the late Jess and Mabel (Schroeder) Fanning.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Ida High School where he participated in many school sports. He was an avid golfer and former member of Green Meadows Golf Course. He was also a member of various bowling and softball leagues throughout the years.
A truck driver for many years, he eventually took a medical retirement from Johnson Controls.
Bob is survived by a sister, Marilee Ball of Monroe; sister-in-law, Olivia Fanning; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Chad Fanning; brothers, William and Richard Fanning; and infant brother, Marvin Fanning.
Bacarella Funeral Home is fulfilling Bob's wishes for cremation and burial. All are welcome to attend a graveside committal service on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park. Rev. Larry Detruf will officiate.
