Robert C. Ellison, age 75 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in his home.
Born November 16, 1948 in Monroe, Bob was the son of the late Conley and Anna Mae (Marlow) Ellison. He attended Monroe Public Schools and served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969.
In 1969, Bob went to work for Chrysler Corp. at the Trenton Engine Plant, retiring in 2006 after 37 years of employment. On May 1, 1970, he married Donna K. Raines in Tazewell, TN.
Bob was an active member of Monroe Full Gospel Church where he served as a Trustee and orchestrated a food ministry program. He was known to be a Jack of All Trades handyman who could fix just about anything. Bob was an avid bow and rifle deer hunter and enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football games, traveling with his wife, and restoring wheel horse tractors.
Bob is survived by his wife Donna: four children, Traci Epps of Port Richey, FL, Melissa (Curtis) Jewell of Monroe, Robert (Christina) Ellison of Chicago, IL, and Steven Ellison of Monroe; four sisters, Roberta Maiden of Temperance, Betty (Jack) Reese of Chandler, AZ, Beverly Heikkila of Temperance, and Barbara Black of Monroe; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Junior Marlow, Gerald Ellison, and Larry Ellison.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 7th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home. Bob will lie in state at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Monroe Full Gospel Church where services will begin at 12 p.m. The church pastor (and Bob's brother-in-law) Rev. Harold Raines will officiate, followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
