Robert A. Bates Jr., 30, of Romulus, passed away at the University of Michigan Hospital, Friday, July 6, 2007, where he had been since June 10. He had been seriously ill for a few days. He was born November 1, 1976 in Wyandotte, MI to Robert A. and Susan (Champagne) Bates Sr.. He enjoyed listening to music. He is survived by his parents, Robert (Suzanne) Bates Sr. of Melvindale and Susan (Daniel) Massie of Flat Rock, grandmothers, Betty Portor of Southfield and Dorothy Cayce of Eddyville, KY, and sisters, Kimberly M. (Scott) Miller of Monroe and Tania Massie of Flat Rock. The family will receive friends at the Bacarella Funeral Home, Wednesday, 5-7 PM. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home at 7 PM that night. Rev. Bobby Jean Henderson of Victory Temple, Southgate will officiate.
