Obituary

Ricky D. Goodrick, age 72 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born June 6, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma, Rick was the son of Arlis and Donna (Walker) Goodrick. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from August 24, 1972 until being honorably discharged on August 21, 1978, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. During that time, he was awarded the Poseidon Deterrent Patrol Pin with 1 Silver Star and 2 Gold Stars, and 2 Good Conduct Medals.
While residing in Oklahoma, Rick, with a few other partners, started a training consulting company in 1981 called FRG Corporation. The business has since expanded throughout the country with Rick being the current President and CEO.
Rick was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Football fan and a member of the American Legion. He liked playing poker at area casinos and enjoyed golfing, traveling, pistol and rifle shooting, riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle and fishing. Rick was known to be generous with his time and talents whenever his family or friends needed help with home repair projects. More than any of these things, family was the most important aspect of his life.
Rick is survived by four children, Wendy Thompson of Monroe, Kristen (Paul) Klevann of Shakopee, MN, Stephanie (Kevin) Reid of Bowling Green, OH, and Ryan Goodrick of Cincinnati, OH; his mother, Donna Goodrick of Hutchinson, KS; two siblings, Roger (Clarinda) Goodrick and Rhonda (Dwayne) Lock, both of Hutchinson, KS; eight grandchildren, Lea (Derek) VonEdwins, Tyler (Madison) Klevann, Ashley Goodrick, Zachary Thompson, Nathaniel Thompson, Olivia Lesch, Andrew Klevann, and Mathis Goodrick; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Blake, Aeson, Waylon, and Finley. Rick was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation arrangements have been made through Bacarella Funeral Home in accordance with Rick's final wishes. All are invited to a memorial visitation from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 27th at the funeral home. A celebration of his life will begin at 4 p.m. Monroe VFW Post 1138 will provide military honors followed by personal eulogies offered by family and friends.
