Richard A. Sieb, age 90 of Monroe, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Sept. 19th in his home.
Born September 4, 1931 in Monroe, Dick was the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Clark) Sieb. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1949 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War. He married Marjorie H. Schwartz on October 3, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
A long time business man in Monroe, Dick owned and operated Sieb Plumbing and Heating for many years. Much could be said about Dick. He was generous with his time and resources. He believed in Monroe and graciously supported countless civic groups, organizations, churches, educational institutions and clubs. He sat on numerous boards and served on countless committees, all to enrich the Monroe community.
Dick is survived by his wife, Marge: two children, Rob (Debbie) Sieb and Sheryl Sieb, both of Monroe; two siblings, Douglas (Doris) Sieb and Nancy Waltz, both of Monroe; five grandchildren: Brandon (Heather) Sieb, Brock Sieb, Shane (Ashley) Sieb, Brad (Ashley) Scott, and Craig Scott; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Dick was also preceded in death by an infant son, William; brother, Donald Sieb and sister-in-law Helen; brother-in-law, Richard Waltz; and infant grandson, Matthew Sieb.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Bacarella Funeral Home. Dick will lie in state at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24th at Trinity Lutheran Church where services will begin at 11:30 a.m. The church pastor, Rev. Daniel Potts, will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery where Monroe VFW Post 1138 will offer military honors.
To best honor Dick's memory, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting Trinity Lutheran Church or School, or by giving to any local charity of the donor's choice.
Gone from our sight … but not our hearts. Rest in peace Dick!
