Richard L. Scharf, age 82, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Richard was born April 5, 1942 in Battle Creek, he was the son of Charles R. and Margaret (Albright) Scharf. He married Diana Busenbark in 1972.
He served his country in the US Army from 1960 – 1964.
Richard was employed as a skilled trades worker for Ford Motor Company at the Woodhaven Plant for 42 years. He had a strong work ethic and spent many years working 7 days a week.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Scharf of Monroe; three grandchildren, Sara Scharf, Jason Williams and Jade Williams; ex-wife Diana Scharf and a brother, Michael Scharf of Englewood, FL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles E. Scharf and sister, Carol.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd, Monroe, VFW Post 1138 will provide a military honor service at 4 p.m. Private burial will take place at Oakridge Cemetery, Flat Rock.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
