Richard D. "Rich" Carr, 71 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in his home.
Born January 13, 1951 in Monroe, Rich was the son of the late Dadagon and Agnes Y. (Borovich) Carr. Rich attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1969 graduate of Monroe High School.
Rich was employed by various companies as a toy salesman. He also worked as a salesman for Monroe Dodge and Momentum Lincoln Mercury. He most recently worked at Lowe's.
Rich was a 35 year member of Stewart Road Church of God where he was a youth leader and sang in the choir.
Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing. He will be remembered as a good and compassionate man with a kind heart who never met a stranger. Most of all Rich loved his two sons Rick and Nick.
Rich is survived by his loving son, Nicholas R. Carr, and his siblings: Maryann Calloway, John Carr, Mark Carr, and Debbie Massingo.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his son, Richard D. Carr, II, and by siblings: Ruby, Mike and Donald Carr.
In keeping with Rich's wishes cremation has been held and there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
